What is Gua No?
According to your Birth Date, your ‘Life Gua’ or ‘Ming Gua’ is calculated. Each Gua is unique and will indicate your favourable and unfavourable directions and locations.
Make sure you know the cut-off point is February 4th. (*as per solar calendar, Chinese New Year starts from 4th Feb)
Example: If you are born Between 1st Jan to 3rd Feb 1988 then your birth year will be counted as 1987 for Gua No. Calculations.
How to Calculate Gua Number?
Add the last two digits of your birth year.
Reduce it to a single digit.
Next, deduct that single digit from 10.
Example :
1) February 10, 1962
6 + 2 = 8
10 – 8= 2
Gua No – 2
2) February 3, 1962
6 + 1 = 7
10 – 7 = 3
Gua No – 3
Add the last two digits of your birth year.
Reduce it to a single digit.
Add 5 to that single digit.
Example :
1) February 10, 1962
6 + 2 = 8
5 + 8 = 13
1 + 3 = 4
Gua No – 4
2) February 3, 1962
6 + 1 = 7
5 + 7 = 12
1 + 2 = 3
Gua No – 3
Note :
1) Do take note that if your resultant number is 5, then Males will assume a Life Gua of #2 and Females will assume Gua #8
2) If the person is born in the year 2000 or later, for Gua No. Calculation, Deduct from 9 for males instead of 10 & Add 6 instead of 5 for females.
Example :
1) February 10, 2000
0 + 0 = 0
9 – 0 = 9
Gua No – 9
2) February 10 , 2009
0 + 9 = 9
9 – 9 = 0
Consider 0 as 9 in this case.

Example :
1) February 10, 2000
0 + 0 = 0
6 + 0 = 6
Gua No – 6
2) February 10, 2009
9 + 0 = 9
6 + 9 = 15
1 + 5 = 6
